We believe in salvation by grace alone. (No person can earn his or her way into heaven, but receives salvation as a gift from
God, bought with the blood of Jesus on the cross.)
It can be safely said that all Disciples believe that every Christian must confess that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of
the Living God, and accept him as Savior and Lord.
We practice believers' baptism by immersion. We accept any baptism, publicly performed by any body of Christian believers.
We are committed to the principle that all Christians are called to study the Bible in search of God's personal revelation
to each of us. We believe that God inspired the Bible through revelation to the earthly authors and that God continues to
reveal God's nature and God's will for our lives through prayer and the study of the Bible. We encourage that study through
Bible study groups and Sunday School classes, where we exchange interpretations for correction and exhortation, building up
the Body of Christ on earth.
We believe that it is important to celebrate the Lord's Supper (Communion) at every worship service. We also believe
that whoever feels called by Jesus Christ to his table is welcome there and among us. As we celebrate the grace of God, the
gift of salvation, we remember what that salvation cost, and just who paid for our sins in full. We celebrate the love of
God that went so far for us.
We believe that when Christians make a commitment to accept Jesus as Lord, they promise a lifetime of service in his name.
For us this has specifically included building homes for the homeless and feeding the hungry and listening for Jesus' call
to new ministries throughout our lives.
We are driven to that service by our love for Jesus, who loved us enough to die for our sins. Since he does not need
anything, our service to him is service to his people.
